Day 1: Arrival at Tangier Seaport or Airport

Day 3: The imperial city of Fes

A joyful day starts from your accommodation (riad/hotel). After your Moroccan breakfast, drive forward to Ouazzane via the Rif Mountains. These mountains belong to the Alboran Sea geological region. The Rif Mountains are not part of the Atlas Mountains System. After an hour and a half of driving through Rif Mountains curves, we reach another northern town called Ouazzane. The city is well-known throughout the Islamic world as a spiritual capital, and it was home to many of the pillars of Sufism, and it was also known as the “House of Safety”. Thus, Ouazzane was the Holy City of Moroccan Jews. They made pilgrimages there to venerate the tombs of Moroccan Saints (Marabouts). Therefore, Ouazzane was an important city to supply a base for the French Army in 1926.
After a couple of hours’ drive, we will get to Fez, a fourth imperial city. It was founded under the Idrisid dynasty during the 8th-9th centuries, and it is located northeast of the Atlas Mountains and is linked to a couple of cities in different regions as well Fes known as a spiritual city. • Karaouine Mosque: One of the biggest religious structures in Morocco, this mosque lies in the heart of the medina. The university attached to the mosque has been the center of Islamic learning in Morocco for more than 1000 years.

• Azouia Moulay Idriss: The tomb of Moulay Idris is a highly revered shrine. At the entrance, women pass offerings through a hatch, which is also as close as a non-Muslim can get.

• Place Nejjarine: A beautiful fountain can be seen at the Place Nejjarine, a square deep in the heart of the medina. After your breakfast in your accommodation, we will start our trip by driving to our first city called Ifrane by way of Imouzzar Kandar, where you will explore and enjoy the Middle Atlas Mountains. Ifrane, “Moroccan Switzerland,” is the city of wonders, and it is the cleanest city in the world. You will have a chance to sightsee and explore the white lion sculpturally. Moreover, Ifrane was carved by a German warrior during World War II. We continue our trip through passing beautiful and tranquil passes over both the Middle and High Atlas ranges and catch a first glimpse of the south-east and drive-by hills covered in forests of cork oak and giant cedar and its home of a few Barbary Macaque Apes.

Day 5: Merzouga – Desert tour – Nomad people

After breakfast, we’ll start exploring the area of Merzouga. The first place of the excursion is Merzouga Lake (A seasonal lake) destination for popular migration birds when the lake is full of water, and then, we will continue our journey to Khamlia village will stop to visit a car museum on the way to Merzouga. Once we arrive at Khamlia, we’ll have the opportunity to listen and enjoy the spiritual Gnawa music played by local people originally from the Sudan, Mali, and other Sub-Saharan countries. Besides, we will continue our journey to the Mifis Village, an old village built by the French during colonization, also known as the mines village, because the mineral mines where some Moroccan people still work the active mines. In the evening, you will start your camel ride to explore the golden Sahara desert with its magnificent views of dunes. Just as you approach your overnight desert camp, you will stop for a sunset view on the top of a dune, which will be one of the highlights of your trip. After your dinner at the desert camp, you will have a chance to listen to and play the local Berber music with your hosts.

Day 6: Merzouga – Tineghir – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

The day will start by watching sunrise from a panoramic view that is worth waking up. After breakfast at camp, you will have two options to drive back from your desert camp to Merzouga Sahara: to come back by camels or by Jeep 4X4. The road descends to the Draa Valley, where Moroccan Jewish families settled along this fertile valley and used to live in harmony with Berber tribes. We will lead to Agdz, situated at the foot of the extraordinary rock formation called Jbel Kissane, In Agdz you will be able to visit the Ksar with the Kasbah of Tamnougalte, the former centre of the tribal region of the Mezguita Berbers. Day 9: M’Hamid – Source Sacré – Erg Chegaga – Lac Iriki – Foum Zguid

After breakfast, our westbound journey will take us to the great dune field of Chegaga. The journey will lead us across sand roads and stone deserts, deep into the Moroccan Sahara. On the way, we will stop in the midst of the desert to rest at a wonderful oasis that is supplied by the Source Sacred. We will then arrive at the mighty dunes of the Erg Chegaga, where there are still nomads living with herds of camels today. You will enjoy the rough beauty, the endless vastness, and the quietude of the desert. You will experience the constant change of light depending on the position of the sun that turns this archaic countryside into a bizarre dream landscape. Our trip will lead us across the even plane of Lac Iriki, a dried-out lake in a solidarity desert landscape glistening white in the sunshine. We will pass by a fossil site and drive across the gravel desert until we reach the small oasis village of Foum Zguid, where you will spend the night in the hotel.

Day 10: Foum Zguid – Tazenakht – Tizi-in-Tichka – Marrakech

After breakfast we will leave small settlements in the midst of palm groves behind, we will cross the Antiatlas and arrive at Tazenakht, which is known for its beautiful carpets and Ouzguita Berbers. From here the road winds its way up weathered rock formations to out Ouarzazate. In the afternoon we will return to Marrakech through the famous Tizi–in-Tichka pass over the High Atlas Mountains. Day 11: Marrakech

On this day, you will accompany a knowledgeable official guide from your accommodation to explore the most famous and exciting imperial city. Marrakech is the fourth largest Moroccan city and one of the four imperial cities of the kingdom. Marrakech had founded by the Almoravid Empire in 1070. Day 12: Marrakech – Essaouira

Day 13: Essaouira – Casablanca

After breakfast, we start our day by driving to Casablanca via the picturesque coastal road. During the journey, we will visit the oldest city in Morocco, Safi or Asfi.
