Day 1: Casablanca – Visiting Mosque Hassan II – Rabat

Our first day of 16 Days Grand Tour From Casablanca will be starting once you arrive at Casablanca airport, then we will drive to the largest city in Morocco called “Casablanca” which is considered the economic city. In Casablanca, we are going to visit one of the most sights in Casablanca is Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa it founded by King Hassan II, and it can hold 105,000 worshippers, the mosque showcases the finest Moroccan artisanship, as well as one of the mosques that open to non-Muslims to visit through selected guided tours lasting around an hour.

Day 2: Rabat – Asilah – Tangier

After breakfast at the accommodation, we will drive to our next north city Asilah via the highway. When we get to our destination, you will have free time to explore the medina of Asilah and admire its great historical heritage is located on the Atlantic coast, the city center houses traces of Portuguese domination during the fifteenth century. This legacy of the city is visible on the old city walls and Raisuni’s Palace; shows up to the most important events that have taken place in Asilah. For lunch, we recommend you to have lunch in restaurants next to the sea, specializing in Moroccan seafood. Actually Delicious!
When we finish our lunch, we will continue the journey to the fascinating city of Tangier, and its surroundings which have been a gateway between Africa and Europe since ancient Phoenician times. The coming site is visiting the Spartel Cape, a 1000 feet high promontory with breathtaking views across the Strait of Gibraltar and the Atlantic Ocean. The next stop is to discover the Hercules’ Caves and listen to the legends of this Greek hero who is believed to have rested here. The journey will end after walking in the hustle and bustle of the city and into the Kasbah and Old Medina. Stroll around the animated shops, full of stunning craftwork and handmade souvenirs pieces. In addition, you will visit the imposing Minaret and the Grand Socco, considered as the largest marketplace in the city that once accommodated famous artists and writers such as Matisse. You spend a night at the luxury hotel overlooking the sea.

Day 3: Tangier – Rif Mountains – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

The third day of our 16 Days Grand Tour will be started after your breakfast, departing to Tetouan via Cape Malabata and you will have time to enjoy a beautiful view of Tangier, later we will drive forward to the village of Ksar Eseghir, a small town surrounded by ramparts dating since the Portuguese time. Continue our day to Tetouan and visit this city which was founded in the 14th century by Merinide Abu Thabit as the base of operation against Ceuta, Tetouan considers as one of the two major ports on the Mediterranean Sea.
After your lunch, we continue our journey to Chefchaouen, “The Blue City” known as the prettiest of the Rifine cities and the name of “Chechaouen” came from Tamazight language “Isakon or Echaouen” means The Horns; and Chefchaouen means “look at the horns” because “Chef” which means “look at” the founder of the city was by Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid al-Alami in 1471 it was just as small as fortress Kasbah before expanding in recent years; the town was colonized and controlled by Spanish colonization that’s why many names are Spanish sounding. Day 4: Sightseeing of Chefchaouen

After breakfast in your hotel, our exploring day starts with first contact with the peaceful Old Medina. It’s a historical neighborhood where blue and white paint dominates the walls and houses. The streets are so narrow that cars cannot pass. Moreover, you will visit The Kasbah is considered the first building constructed in the city, then the square yard of Outae Hammam, which is the biggest yard in the old medina with more than 4000 m2, where you can find cafes and restaurants. As a result, Spanish civilization and Moorish architecture have had a large influence. During the walking tour around the city, one will notice that nothing has changed in Chefchaouen for many centuries. We will have time to make stops throughout the day for photography and discover the mesmerizing world of Chefchaouen, with its alluring culture, beautiful people, and colorful markets. Later on, visiting a crafts market, typical hand-washing laundries are dotted along the slopes of the Rif hills across the river. In the afternoon, you will have your own time to explore more of The Blue Pearl, and have a great meeting with sunset on the top of the panoramic view, and overnight at your hotel.

Day 5: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes

A joyful day starts from your accommodation (riad/hotel). After your Moroccan breakfast, drive forward to Ouazzane via the Rif Mountains. These mountains belong to the Alboran Sea geological region. The Rif Mountains are not part of the Atlas Mountains System. After an hour and a half of driving through Rif Mountains curves, we reach another northern town called Ouazzane. The city is well-known throughout the Islamic world as a spiritual capital, and it was home to many of the pillars of Sufism, and it was also known as the “House of Safety”. Thus, Ouazzane was the Holy City of Moroccan Jews. They made pilgrimages there to venerate the tombs of Moroccan Saints (Marabouts). Therefore, Ouazzane was an important city to supply a base for the French Army in 1926.
After a couple of hours drive, we will get to the best Roman ruins in Morocco is Volubilis, the well preserved Roman empire dating to 225 BC, Volubilis is by far the most important Roman settlement in Morocco, and best-preserved and having been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. In addition to that, Volubilis is where you will see the most beautiful mosaics in Morocco, dating back to the 3rd century BC. Here you will have a guided tour of the site and learn a lot about the Roman Empire. After that, we travel to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco, which refers to Sultan Moulay Ismail, who is the builder of the city, Meknes, where we will have lunch and spend the night.

Day 6: Sightseeing of Meknes – Fes

The next day, after your breakfast, we will start the day by exploring Meknes with our professional guide. Meknes is well known as one of the fourth imperial cities of Morocco, founded by the Almoravid dynasty in the 11th century, is located in the north, where it has a strategic position in the heart of the country. In Meknes, you will visit many sights, for example, the big gate of Bab Mansour designed by Sultan Moulay Ismail in the bustling Lahdim square, and later you will walk or drive to our coming site, Habs Qara “Qara Prison”, built in an underground labyrinth that could host thousands of inmates. Furthermore, visiting Sahrij Swani once served as a water reservoir in times of drought and siege. Built by Louis XIV’s contemporary, Moulay Ismail, this ornamental lake was once surrounded by tall ramparts much ruined by an 18th-century earthquake. Then later, visit the granary store of Moulay Ismail “Heri Essouani”, which was a big store of grain at that time; you will find a remarkable system of high-vaulted chambers with a series of storerooms and granaries. In Moulay Ismail’s time, these used to hold provisions in the case of a drought or a siege.
Meknes sightseeing includes also:
• Grand Mosque of Meknes: The mosque, considered the oldest and one of the most important mosques in Meknes, is based in the center of the old medina and was founded by the Almoravids in the 12th century; furthermore, the mosque had an extensive financial and religious section because it contained the main souk streets.
• Madrasa Bou Inania in Meknes: Madrasa means school for higher learning in Islamic science. It has established through the Marinid period by Sultan Abu Al Hasan. Today the school “Madrasa” is not only a place of practicing religion is also open for tourists.
• Nejjarine Mosque in Meknes: Considered an old mosque in the historic city of Meknes, it had built during the Almoravid period in the 12th century AD. In 1996, the mosque had designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• Lalla Aouda Mosque in Meknes: Found in the Marinid era in 1276, Lalla Aouda refers to Lalla Masuda Waliya (Saint), the mother of Sultan Ahmad Al Mansour Saadi. The mosque had massively shrouded because the Alaouite Sultan Moulay Ismail made a construction project in the late 17th century as part of the creative new imperial city in Meknes.
We will have lunch in a large winery in Meknes. “Chateau Roslane” is a well-known wine producer in Morocco. It’s good to know that Morocco has produced wine for hundreds of years, going back to the Phoenician and Roman eras. The winery is located in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, 26 km from Meknes. At an altitude of around 580 to 700 m above sea level, in Chateau Roslane you can taste wine made with grapes from different areas, as well as buy it. In the evening, we will continue our journey to the spiritual city of Fes, where we have two nights there.

Day 7: Exploring Fes with Official Local Guide

• Royal Palace Gate: The Royal Palace is one of the most elegant structures in Morocco with a large and impressive gate; it’s located in the new part of Fez (Fes El Jdid). The royal palace was rebuilt by the Alaouites dynasty starting in 1969-1971. The gate of the palace had an excellent piece of modern Moroccan craftsmanship. And it is had decorated with mosaic tile and carved cedarwood, as well as the gate, which has gilt bronze covered in geometric patterns.
• The Jewish headquarter: The first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century, as you know that Fez had long hosted the largest and one of the oldest Jewish communities in Morocco.
• Bab Boujloud Gate: The Bab Boujloud Gate is the most famous in Morocco. It is also the main entrance to the Medina. See the striking blue and green colors that cover either side of this monumental gate.
• South Borj: On the hills overlooking the old city (Medina) of Fes, built by Saadian dynasty in 1582.
• Andalusia Mosque: This stunning mosque is easily definable by its imposing green and white minaret. Built at the end of the 9th century by a woman, its wood carvings are exquisite.
• Tanners’ District: One of the main attractions of Fez, the tanners’ quarters is where leather is produced using the same centuries-old methods. You can get a bird’s eye view from the raised platform and watch the entire process.
• El-Attarine Madrasa or the Medersa Attarine: Visit Fez’s most popular attraction, the El-Attarine Madrasa in the heart of the city, built-in 1325. See the fine examples of Merenidcraftsmanship around the madrasa, especially the stucco and cedar wood carvings on the ceiling.
• Karaouine Mosque: One of the biggest religious structures in Morocco, this mosque lies in the heart of the medina. The university attached to the mosque has been the center of Islamic learning in Morocco for more than 1000 years.
• Azouia Moulay Idriss: The tomb of Moulay Idris is a highly revered shrine. At the entrance, women pass offerings through a hatch, which is also as close as a non-Muslim can get.
• Place Nejjarine: A beautiful fountain can be seen at the Place Nejjarine, a square deep in the heart of the medina. It is also home to the Nejjarine Museum of Wood and carpentry and showcases Fez’s renowned wood-carving tradition. See exquisite furniture, thrones, and objects of everyday use. Nearby is the souk of the carpenters.

Day 8: Fes – Ifran – Azrou – Middle Atlas Mountains – Midelt – Errachidia – Merzouga

After your breakfast in your accommodation, half of our 16 Days Grand Tour From Casablanca, we will start our trip by driving to our first city called Ifrane by way of Imouzzar Kandar, where you will explore and enjoy the Middle Atlas Mountain’s view. Ifrane “Moroccan Switzerland” is the city of wonders and its cleanest city in the world, you will have a chance to sightsee and explore the white lion sculpturally. Moreover, Ifrane had carved by a German warrior during World War II. We continue our trip through passing beautiful and tranquil passes over both the Middle and High Atlas ranges and catch a first glimpse of the sout-east and drive-by hills covered in forests of cork oak and giant cedar and its home of a few Barbary Macaque Apes.

We continue our journey to Merzouga Sahara by driving through the gorgeous Ziz Valley—where we have a stop for its marvelous panoramic views. The valley also has a huge oasis containing over six million palm trees, edged by many ksours (fortified villages) on the road to Erfoud. It is considered a principal source of dates here in Morocco. We will reach Merzouga before sunset as well, where you will have an overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 9: Desert Tour: Discover Merzouga Sahara – Camel Trekking

After breakfast, we’ll start exploring the area by visiting the village of black people, originally from Mali, to enjoy their music and the way they live. After that, we will drive to Miffis Mines to explore how they work over there before getting behind the dunes in a full desert with charming views. We will have sit for a warm cup of tea with the local Bedouins before returning to the hotel, the guide will teach you how to mount and dismount the camel and other handy camel-related safety tips. Then you begin exploring the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi and the golden Sahara planet with its magnificent views of sand dunes. When you are close to reaching the desert camp, you will have a stop for a sunset view on the top of the sand dune, and try sandboarding with the magnificent colors of the sun. Day 10: Merzouga – Erfoud (Fossils’ City) – Gorge Tudra – Boumaln Dades

The day will be started by dating with the sunrise in a panoramic view that is worth waking up for after your breakfast at camp you will have two options to drive back from your desert camp to Merzouga Sahara, which is to come back by camels or by Jeep 4X4. And then, we leave Merzouga after a great lifetime experience in the Sahara desert, driving toward Rissani is the ancient capital of Tafilalet which was a principal road of caravans, and considered as a commercial center in the region with a large market “Souk” where you will take a chance to connect and to interact with locals, then continue our journey to Erfoud “Fossils City” as well-known as filmmaker’s destination thanks to the beauty of the surrounding Desert Sahara and towns of oasis areas, movies had filmed here are March OR Die, The Mummy, and Prince Of Persia. After two hours of driving, we will reach one of the famous spots of the high atlas, called Todgha gorge located 16KM far away from Tinghier consists of several canyons and a large river.
This stunning area affords plenty of opportunities to walk, such as along the river through the garden or up the road on the other side of the gorge. Besides, the Todgha Gorge had deemed as a station for tourists and locals who are interested in climbing and hiking in its canyons and having a walk through the gorge, you will have lunch in a beautiful restaurant which is overlooking the river. Day 11: Boumalne Dades – Kelaat M’guna ( Roses’s City ) – Ouarzazat ( Moroccan Holywood ) – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddo – Marrakech

We will start our day after your delicious breakfast at the accommodation, you can enjoy the stunning view of Dades valley from one strategic lookout in the high atlas mountains, then, later on, we continue our expedition to another valley called Valley of the Roses “Kalaat M’gouna” the city is the central district of many villages, and it has two special days for the local market, first day in Tuesday, it is only for livestock trade, and Wednesday is the second day is for food and other goods. Kalaat M’gouna is well-known for its rose products of beauty recognized as natural products, also used in Moroccan cuisine and the perfume industry, as well the city famous for a festival in early of May because there is no set date for the festival, it determines on the harvest season, during festival local Berber musicians playing traditional instrumentals and dancing.

The last day of a festival is a special day to choose Ms. Roses. After a few stops of enjoying and discovering the fascination of one thousand kasbahs road, we reach Ouarzazate which is identified as the gate of the Sahara desert, which is a city of the Draa-Tafilalet region too. You will find in Ouzoud waterfalls many small restaurants that serve traditional Moroccan cuisine. Or the foot of the falls, you can sip mint tea while watching the carousel of monkeys, admiring the rainbow over the waterfalls. You will cross the river by the wooden bridge that cost some dirhams for one of the small boats and a little kitsch and baptized with humor “Le France,” “Le Phocéa,” or “Le Titanic,” will take you to the nearest falls. In the afternoon, we drive back to Marrakech after spending a sweet and beautiful day in Ouzoud (Ouzoud means “sweet” in Berber).

Day 14: Marrakech – Chichaoua – Essaouira

After incredible days in the Red City, we will leave Marrakech. When you finish your breakfast, it is time to go towards the Atlantic Ocean and Essaouira. It has long been considered one of the best anchorages on the Moroccan coast that is to be an escape site from the stress and busy life of Marrakech. So, we want to go to such a beautiful and silent town with a beautiful beach. The journey will take us through numerous villages scattered alongside the road, with beautiful scenery of Argan trees, and we will make a stop to see goats climbing the trees. Then later, we are going to visit a cooperative of one of the most famous and unique oils in the world, Argan Oil, also known as Liquid Gold or Moroccan Oil. You will visit a local ladies’ cooperative to learn how some fine cosmetic products which are locally had made out of the rich Argan oil. By the way, you can buy the oil and other products made from argan. From here, we will carry on to Essaouira, where you will have lunch and overnight.

Day 15: Exploring the beauty of Essaouira

After breakfast at the Riad in Essaouira, we will start our explorative journey of the city. The first site of the day is visiting the Skala Fortress; seeing Thuya wood carved by artisans; walking through the alleys of the medina, and viewing hundreds of handicrafts. Today you will have lunch the Moroccan way: freshly bought fish, cooked to order. In the afternoon, you will have some free time to wander around, go to the beach, and enjoy some time to yourself. Essaouira is known as the City of the Wind, and it attracts surfers from all over the world. Essaouira knew many civilizations–including the Portuguese occupation, which had affected much of its architecture. However, it remains a small village with much history. Because of its size, therefore, it has characteristic blue doors and washed walls are regarded as Morocco’s “Jewel of the Atlantic”. There is an annual festival of “Gnawa music,” where many musical groups come from different parts of Africa and the world. Usually, it starts in the second week of June. Overnight at riad.

Day 16: Essaouira – Casablanca

This day will be hard for us to say goodbye after greatness and an unforgettable experience. We leave Essaouira, driving to Casablanca airport. The drive will take five hours to reach Casablanca airport. Our service of “16 Days Grand Tour From Casablanca” ends when we drop you off at the airport.
